Learn-WiseGo Joins Forces with Med World Live!

Learn-WiseGo is excited to announce the completion of our first major customized integration! Magnifi Group has been collaborating with LIMA USA on the development of an integration with Med World Live. Med World Live is a video platform that allows medical device companies and healthcare systems to deliver content to their sales teams, internal staff and customers through a 4-angle video portal. LIMA USA uses these videos to train their own staff on surgical procedures and how to place implants.

With this new integration, your users now have the ability to watch surgical videos directly in their Learn-WiseGo library without ever leaving Learn-WiseGo. No Med World Live account for users necessary! Furthermore, all video usage will be tracked back to admin report so you can see which videos are popular with your users.

If you have a specific video provider that you would like to see on your LMS or would like the Med World Live privilege enabled, let your Account Manager know!

INTERACTION HIGHLIGHT: Adding Hotspots to Your Online Modules

Adding interactions to your e-learning modules is a great way to keep users engaged and interested while reviewing your content. There are many pre-built options to choose from, but one of the most versatile choices is the hotspot.
Hotspots are invisible buttons that can be used for triggering actions like jumping to other slides and showing layers. They can also help de-clutter more information heavy slides by hiding text until a user hovers over the relevant spot, and be used as invisible targets in a drag-and-drop interaction.

 

One: Place Your Hotspots
Once you have chosen your image or background, adding a hotspot is as easy as going to the Insert tab on the ribbon, selecting Hotspot and one of the shapes, and drawing the hotspot on your slide. When you’re working in Storyline, hotspots will appear as semi-transparent shapes, but not to worry- they are completely invisible when you preview or publish your project.

Tip- You can change a hotspot’s color or effect to make it easier to see while you’re working in Storyline. They will still be invisible in the published course.

 

Two: Making Your Hotspots Work
When you draw a hotspot, Storyline will automatically add a trigger- however, it starts as “unassigned” and you will need to edit the trigger in order for your hotspot to work. To modify the trigger, double-click it to open for editing. From there, select what layer you would like your hotspot to trigger, or select a slide to jump to when the user clicks.

Tip- Hotspots can have more than one use- If you would like to display another layer when the hotspot is hovered over, but jump to another slide when clicked, add a second trigger.

Three: Publish and Upload

Once you have tested your hotspots, you are ready to publish! Remember that your hotspots will be invisible on your finished slides. Here is our finished product:

Publish your new course as SCORM 2004, 2nd or 3rd edition and Passed/Failed to make sure all your performance data gets sent to the Learn-WiseGo Reports, and you are ready to upload and deliver to your users!

Minimal Effort, Maximum Impact: Three Tips for Transforming your PowerPoint Presentations to Online Modules

When you survey your training resources, do you see an abundance of PowerPoint presentations that are typically delivered in a classroom setting? If yes, you are not alone! This time-tested training method works, but has its limitations. If you are ready to shift your training to a more flexible digital environment, you might be wondering how… and what to do with all those PowerPoints?! Here are 3 tips to work with what you’ve got!

 

One: Convert

 

Most leading authoring tools include an “import PowerPoint” feature (Articulate Storyline) or are a PowerPoint add-on (iSpring Presenter). All you have to do is pull in your existing slides and output an LMS-ready SCORM or xAPI file. You could literally stop right there! You have already taken a big step, but if you want to see what else you can do, check out the next two tips.

 

Hint- After importing a PowerPoint, preview it first to make sure all the text, images, and animations are exactly where you want them.

 

Two: Enhance

 

Now that your training material will be delivered virtually, your users won’t have a live person with whom to interact. It’s a great idea to keep your users interested in the content by adding some interesting interactions. Most authoring tools come with several great pre-built options. For example, users can explore information using a slider or click to reveal. If you want to check that your users are understanding the material, add a few quiz questions like a multiple choice, true/false, or an interactive drag and drop question.

Three: Incentivize and Deliver

 

Upload your courses to Learn-WiseGo and distribute them to your users. Incentivize course completions with reward points and customized certificates of completion. Track completion rates and user performance in customizable and dynamic reports.

3 Tips to Maximize Your Classroom Training with Learn-WiseGo eLearning

It’s hard to imagine a time when there will be zero in-person, hands-on training. Classroom training will always be a necessary part of a comprehensive training and education program. There are some things you can only accomplish in-person: getting your hands a product, going through a live procedure, role-playing scenarios in real-time, etc. You also can’t beat the relationship and team building that naturally occurs when people are together in the same room.

But classroom training is expensive and time consuming- from cost of the travel and hotel accommodation for every attendee to the time each person has to take away from their daily responsibilities. So you need to make every minute of classroom training count.

There are several ways to do this using eLearning and Learn-WiseGo.  Here are three tips:

ONE: Preparation/Qualification

Create an eLearning module to make sure everyone arrives with the same baseline of knowledge. There is little value in spending your classroom time going over definitions or key terms. Give them an introduction to your product/service/training topic so everyone will be prepared to dig into the details when the training starts.

We have even seen some clients take it a step further and not allow users to even register for in-person training until they have achieved a certain level of training.

Tip! Use the Training Module Score Analysis report to identify most-missed questions and identify weak points you can focus on during your training.

Incentivize it! Set up a Rewards Program around your pre-classroom training. First one to the top gets an upgraded room, upgraded flight, or maybe just a big round of applause – your choice, of course.

TWO: Pre-training Support Resources

Take advantage of the Learn-WiseGo library to build a resource center. Advertise it to your users so they have the chance to browse the material and familiarize themselves with the material in advance – without the pressure of a test.

Tip! Library materials can be made available for download to be easily accessed offline. This is a great option for anyone taking a long flight to your classroom training.

Of course, the Library will also be available after your classroom training, and you can continue to add resources to it in order to provide continued support.

THREE: Post-training follow-up

 Solidify lessons learned by following up a few times after the training is over and everyone has gone home. Repetition and review of the training material will help it stick.

If you used Learn-WiseGo to register everyone for your classroom training, you have the option to attach an eLearning module that will automatically release to users after the training is over. You can also give users a Certificate of Completion for the in-person training. This is very important for their training history and records.

Best practice! Conduct a post training survey using the Learn-WiseGo survey function to gather feedback and improve future training sessions.
